About the Kulturpfade Bad Ischl website

The implementation of the "Kulturpfade" (cultural trails) website was preceded by several steps:

  • In 2016, the new Guide of the Cemetery of Bad Ischl, published by the Cultural Heritage Society of Bad Ischl (Ischler Heimatverein), was accompanied by the website www.friedhofsfuehrer.at
  • In 2018, the idea to implement a similar website from the recently published books "Die Ischler Luft wird das beste Machen - Ein Spaziergang auf den Spuren der Literaten" (Ischler Literatenspaziergang) and Monument Guide of Bad Ischl (Ischler Denkmalführer), published by the Cultural Heritage Society of Bad Ischl (Ischler Heimatverein), came up.
  • It was perfectly clear that a cooperation with the tourist office was needed and that interests of our guests (imperial era, salt, villas, etc.) should be the focus.
  • The Municipality of Bad Ischl supports this website

Contributors and sources:

The research of architect Franz Federspiel into monuments, commemorative plaques, etc.

"Die Ischler Luft wird das beste Machen - Ein Spaziergang auf den Spuren der Literaten", a book with contributions by Herwig Gottwald and Michael Kurz

"Ischler Heimatbuch", a book on the history of Ischl published by the Cultural Heritage Society of Bad Ischl (Ischler Heimatverein)

Various chronicles and travel guides from treasured memories

Thanks to the volunteer work of Johannes Eberl, Kurt Eckel, and Gerhard Größwang, the contributions have been completed with pictures, texts and locations on the town map.

Eva Gottwald, together with a group of students from the local high school, is responsible for the "Latin Inscriptions" menu items (texts and pictures)

Engineer Michael Eberl and Petra Vock were responsible for the "Ischl once & now" menu items.

The English translation was sponsored by the "European Capital of Culture 2024". This made it possible to create an English version of the Kulturpfade website in cooperation with "short&sweet TRANSLATION" (Karina Wimmer and Glen W. Covert). As a result, a much larger group of people are now able to enjoy the information provided.

Special thanks to Michael Eberl and FIRSTMEDIA network GmbH for the implementation of the website and the editorial system. It was only through the extensive technical detail work that it became possible to create the Kulturpfade website to this extent.
A particular challenge was making the website bilingual, which was realized by Michael Eberl.

Yours sincerely,
Ischler Heimatverein
