Bahnhofplatz
The sculpture by artist Xenia Hausner was errected in May 2024 at Bahnhofplatz square as part of the European Capital of Culture Bad Ischl Salzkammergut. It is intended that the sculpture will be there until end of November.
Above a female bust made of shiny silver material (polished aluminum), there is a “bottle of breathable air”, which appears like a heavy load.
With her piece of art, Hausner points out the social and existential problems of our time. She refers specifically to the dwindling resources.
Xenia Hausner, daughter of the Austrian painter Rudolf Hausner, was born in 1951 in Vienna. She is an internationally known artist and also known for her paintings and stage designs. Her art can be admired in leading international museums. Hausner has close ties to the Salzkammergut.
