In 1875, the former imperial and royal granary was purchased, and over the course of the following six years it was converted into a school and parsonage as well as a neo-Gothic style church.
The consecration of the Protestant church by Superintendent Jakob Ernst Koch was on 1 July 1881. The event took place almost exactly 100 years after the Patent of Toleration (13 October 1781) by Emperor Joseph II.
