The operation of the Gschlachten-Riesweg was certainly associated with dangers. In 1924, for example, the forestry worker Mathias Fischeneder was fatally hit by a shooting Bloch at this point. Particularly tragic: it was the last Bloch of the entire beating period and he had miraculously escaped unharmed in a similar incident some time earlier.
