So far, hardly anything has become known about this vase, neither its origin, delivery time, nor the artist. Only the foundry JJ Ducel et Fils) is inscribed on the vase. Already by about 1880, the vase had been in the park at its present location. A few years ago, it was restored.
The large cast iron vase on a stone base, which may have been bronzed in the past, once formed the centre of a flower-filled garden parterre.
