The plaque commemorates Alfred Nobel (1833, Stockholm – 1893, San Remo). Nobel was an industrialist, inventor of the dynamite, and the founder of the Nobel Prize which was named after him.

Between 1885 and 1893, he owned the Villa Concordiastrasse 2.
