Hasnerallee 4
Beautiful villa in good condition located on the shore of the Traun river.
Originally, the property was named “Achleitnerische Behausung auf der Leithen“, which translates as “the Achleitner family home on the hillside”. The first owner of the house was the widow of the saline worker Sebastian Achleitner, who worked in the boiling plant.
The villa was built in 1898/99 for Franz Pfandl, a turner.
The compact square villa with a tent roof is very different from the shape of the other villas in town. The side facing the former Esplanade promenade is particularly elaborately designed.
The villa was built by Michael Treu. He was born in Moggio, Friuli, Italy, on 31 May 1861 as Michele Treu. In 1896 he received his master builder license. Treu’s office was located at Trainkai No. 10 (today, tinsmith Kolanek). Treu died in Sacile, Province of Udine, Italy, on 29 May 1946. For more details about Michael Treu, see Mitteilungen (No. 43) bulletin of the Cultural Heritage Society of Bad Ischl (Ischler Heimatverein), page 61.)
The villa is well maintained and has hardly changed.
Particularly interesting are also the later owners’ professions, which no longer exist in their original forms: weaver, salt mine worker, a so-called “Bergknecht”, mining operation manager, a so-called “Meisterknecht”, and boatman.
