Franz Hans Schönthan bought this beautiful little castle in 1916. He was the son of writer Franz von Schönthan (Edler von Pernwaldt) who wrote many comedies, e.g. The robbery of the Sabine women (Der Raub der Sabinerinnen).
In 1927, Franz Hans‘ wife Marie sold the house to the Halberstam family. They lost the house in 1938 due to Aryanization, but were able to buy it back in 1947.
