The Sonnenschein Villa in Bauerstraße14 was also named “Adele Villa” or F”reya Villa”.
Partial list of owners taken from Haidinger’s Chronical of Houses:
1902 Siegmund Mandl purchased the plot, construction of the villa in 1904
Further owners were Adele Fischel and Max Hahn with his wife Grete
1926 the villa as purchased by Dr. Adolf Sonnenschein
1942 the villa was seized by Geheime Staatspolizei (the Gestapo), the official secret police of Nazi Germany
1944 due to a court decision, the villa was owned by the Greater German Reich
1946 the military government appointed the Financial Directorate as administrator
1952 the villa was given back to Lilli Marker (daughter of Dr. Adolf Sonnenschein).
1979 Sonnenschein’s granddaughter Dorothea Marker sold the villa to the Social Insurance Company for the Self-Employed in Austria. The heart rehabilitation center was built where the Sonnenschein Villa once was, which was in quite rundown condition when it was razed.
