Bad Ischl, Kaltenbachstraße 40
This well-kept and in good condition villa was commissioned by Karl Ramsauer in 1888. He bought the plot in the part of Ischl called Kaltenbach in 1886. From about 1925 the Jewish Guttmann family was owner of the villa. Today, the descendants of the Guttmann family live in America and Israel. After the end of WWII, an application for restitution was filed in 1947.
At one time, this villa stood completely alone. The local railway passed the villa on its way to Salzburg. Behind the villa one can still see the old stone bridgehead of the railway’s viaduct.
Today the villa is privately owned and the owners offer beautiful accommodations for holiday guests.
