The small chapel was probably constructed around 1900. In 1912, it burnt down and was rebuilt. It experienced the same fate in 1990, after a fire, the chapel was rebuilt and consecrated on 17 May 1990.

Since 13 June 2013, the Bark Chapel became a “Place of Good Luck” (Glücksplatz).

The chapel of 1990 is very similar to its predecessor, but was constructed without natural wood. The side and the rear wall were again covered with bark inside and out. It has a remarkable flat shingle roof and is furnished with a Madonna on the altar (print).
