Anton Bruckner

 (1824, Ansfelden – 1896, Vienna)

Bruckner was a composer and organist. He was active as a court organist since 1863 in the Parish Church of Ischl on festive occasions of the imperial family. His organ playing on the occasion of the wedding of the Emperor Franz Joseph's daughter Archduchess Marie Valerie of Austria to her third cousin Archduke Franz Salvator in 1890 was legendary.

The plaque is a portrait relief by Franz Forster, installed in 1960.

Between 1863 and 1890, Bruckner preferred to stay at his friend’s house, the teacher Johann Nepomuk Attwenger.
