One of the most recent landmarks of the town centre is this clock, which is a sensation with its carillon. It was built in 1989 by the Kreuzplatz Square merchants (with watchmaker Harald Baumann leading the way).

The clock, formed as an oversized pocket watch but with dials on both sides, rests on a steel column on which the carillon’s twelve brass bells are freely suspended below the clock. The electronically-controlled carillon, with two seasonally different programs of popular and mostly Ischl-related melodies (including the Emperor's Anthem), sounds four times a day
