At the Bacher Farmhouse at Hinterstein 3, at the entrance to the “Tauern Trail”, high above the left bank of the Rettenbach riverbank, northeast of the farm
Little is known about this chapel, but it seems to be much older than is indicated by the date of consecration (1967). Perhaps one of the bark chapels, very popular in the 19th century, originally stood here, and then its masonry was renewed. If so, the only the flat gable roof would have been rebuilt in 1967.
This chapel is made of brick, and has a rounded back. Its furnishings are old. On a wooden “altar table” with embroidered cloth, there is an altar-like structure (all made of barked logs) with a round-arched niche. In the niche is a plaster statue of the Blessing Christ. In front of it is a wooden statue of St. John Nepomuk and two old prints. On the wall there is a stone plaque with the consecration inscription from 1967.
