An older chapel (or a chapel shrine) at this location was supposedly built by the previous owners of the Ahorn 1 (“Hoasch”) farm around 1800. It marked the eastern boundary of the estate at that time, and on the western border, there was another chapel wayside shrine.

Villa Kartousch (Ahorn 47) was built in 1894 and bought by Baroness Gabriele Eynatten. The chapel was probably renovated at this time and received the Gothic pointed arch. In 1974, it was demolished to widen the road and the new chapel with the same shape (set back approx. 5m) was finished in 1975. The roof and the grille of the old chapel were taken over and the consecration was not until 1978.

The chapel is an almost square building placed on the slope with wrought iron grille (19th century). Inside is a sandstone relief of the “Birth of Christ” with a “Gloria in excelsis deo” scroll by J. Kastner (1844-1923).
