In 1829, on the initiative of Dr. Wirer, the construction of the first brine steam bath east of Rudolf’s Park began.

One hundred years later, it was demolished and replaced by a building designed by architects Clemens Holzmeister and Max Fellerer. In addition to numerous medical applications, the building also included the first brine swimming pool in the Alps. For many years, the house was named Kurmittelhaus before it was renamed Landeskuranstalten. After a generous expansion, it was renamed again and remains called EurothermenResort Bad Ischl Spa.
