According to tradition, the innkeepers built a bark chapel here in 1876, which was partly renovated with masonry in 1930. In 2010, after being damaged by lightning, the chapel was partially rebuilt and the furnishings restored.

This walk-in wayside shrine with its strikingly steep shingle roof features particularly remarkable furnishings. Noteworthy is the large, Baroque-styled figure of the Virgin Mary (trampling the serpent) cut out of boards, flanked by two amorini. The painting is signed “K[arl] Wutschl 1887, but this may only indicate an earlier restoration. If so, the figures could be older.
