The memorial stone commemorates the Viennese Juliana Schmid, who bequeathed Euros 500,000 to the Federal Water Engineering Administration for nature conservation measures. With the funds, the older arm of the Traun River, which had been separated during construction (1901 – 1907), was re-naturalized and reconnected to the Traun River in 2011. The memorial stone was erected in July 2012 when the project was finished.

An upright marble slab supports a granite plaque with an explanation of the occasion. Right next to it, a wooden viewing platform gives a view of the renaturalization. The older arm of the Traun River is now permanently travelled by water again, and can also function together with the surrounding floodplains as a flood retention area.
