At the Traun shore train in Lauffen, at the small hydropower station
This was and is a popular swimming spot for the residents of Lauffen, even though this place can also be very dangerous, as shown by the two wayside shrine that remind us of children who have drowned here while swimming. The two wayside crosses by a painter surnamed Pilz, were renewed in 2011 by an amateur.
The wayside cross was erected in 1941. On the panel, in a gabled, brown-painted wooden box, there is an image of a guardian angel without any specific reference to the location. The model for this cross was probably the much older Sidler wayside cross, located just to the right.
