At the beginning of the Elisabeth-Waldweg trail in Pfandl
In 2014, Hannes Streibl took up his late mother Christine's idea of building a chapel near the “Zum Pfandl” inn. His siblings, but also many acquaintances and friends, welcomed this project. Alexander Auer provided a plot of land and so planning and construction could begin soon afterwards. Objectives: the chapel should not only invite visitors to a break, but also to commemorate the deceased members of the Streibl family.
On 16 May 2015, the time had come: the chapel was finished and was consecrated to St. John of Nepomuk by Deacon Alois Wiesauer as part of a May devotion. Hannes Streibl was able to welcome numerous guests at the consecration. He thanked the many volunteers and supporters and especially the young artist Lukas Österreicher, who had carved the statue of St. Nepomuk.
