A villa with history!

The villa, built in 1879 in late classicist style, still consists of a main building and two smaller annexes.

Originally, the villa had different names and was bought in 1910 by the Ischl hotelier Leopold Petter. He started his career as a waiter in the Café Walther (today Café Zauner) on the esplanade. Petter lived frugally and bought up one business after the other. He thus became an important hotelier.  Emperor Franz Joseph is reputed to have said: "....... I am the Emperor of Austria and Petter is the Emperor of Kaltenbach!" Due to his friendship with playwriter Oscar Blumenthal, Petter became the inspiration for Waiter Leopold, the main character of the The White Horse Inn comedy!

Today, the villa is the home of a renowned educational institution: the Higher Educational Institution for Economic Professions with the new specialization Sustainability Management, the Higher Educational Institution for Economic Professions specializing in Social Management, Federal School for Social Professions and Advanced Higher Educational Institution specializing in Social Management.
