In Engleiten, about 230m south of the Emperor Franz Joseph Hunting Statue, on an overhanging rock face
Between 1800 and 1850, the entire brine pipeline from Hallstatt to Ebensee was rerouted and fitted with permanent ashlar walls and bridges. The shrine was probably constructed at some point during this time, but there are no references to the donator, creator or reason for its construction. Around 1990, the old, relatively well-painted picture was apparently stolen. In 2019, artist Hanni Ballerin painted a new picture based on the old model on behalf of the Cultural Heritage Society of Bad Ischl (Ischler Heimatverein).
In the semicircular, conical niche carved into the vertical rock, a pietà painting on sheet metal is attached. Dowel holes indicate an earlier iron grille.
The re-consecration after the restoration took place on 22 October 2021.
